Da Gama provides services to the Superyacht Industry in three main areas:
Supply
Working with the officer delegated the vessels navigational responsibilities, we supply all the required publications, charts and bridge related equipment to achieve IMO regulations and Flag state requirements. Other stores available include:
- Bridge and vessel safety related equipment.
- Highest quality printed and embroidered flags and ensigns.
- Weekly Notice to Mariners via electronic download for the maintenance of your chart outfit.
- Electronic charts and their associated licences including Transas, Jeppeson and UKHO AVCS.
Training
Utilising our professional backgrounds we provide a team of experienced instructors who work alongside the Captain to generate a bespoke training package for the benefit of all those on board. Ideally suited to yachts emerging from build or refit, among the areas we cover are:
- Bridge Resource Management and navigation standards.
- Fire refreshers to help develop a crew into an effective team.
- Engineering practises and development of operating procedures.
- MCA accredited ECDIS courses leading to vessel accreditation in navigating primarily by electronic means.
Consultancy
To provide mariners with a competent service it is necessary to understand the complexities crews face on a day to day basis. Our representatives are mariners, each with over 21 years sea service. As professional specialists our team provide consultancy advice to a number of yachts and high profile companies in:
- Bridge design.
- Operating procedures.
- Vessel and crew security.
- Expert witnesses in navigation incidents.
Regularly asked to write articles, present at maritime conferences, provide editorial feedback and advice to the marine industry and Superyachts in particular, we are gaining a reputation for honesty and discrete professionalism.
